Bicycle question. i have two bikes , one for my girl and one for me?

the only difference between the two is that one is a girls type bike and one a guys. for some reason hers has an odd steering issue, if you let go of the handlebars even for a second the bike will veer off, even with one hand it is dangerous, its as iff the steering isnt loose enough but ive checked it and it is as loose as my bike, the wheel is straight and the brakes do not rub, it does look as if the fork is not original and there is no front fender anymore which says to me its been damaged and repaired, other then that im stumped. the bike manuvers fine when just being walked but as soon as there is weight on it its like the steering is very stiff. any suggestions?

Mate, check the head set - that's the part that holds the forks, to the frame. If someone replaced the forks, chances are they didn't shell out the extra ping for a new head set. If the new fork doesn't have the same bearing race as the old forks - bearings could have been ground out or lost completely. Hence the problems that occur when weight is added to the equation. If the headset seems fine, give it a good clean and pack it with fresh grease and tighten it up, loose is rarely good on any rig.
Oh a suggestion..wheels buckled, tyres not on properly?
Put the bike upside down and spin the wheels and make sure there is no wobbles. If its fine, it rules out another possibility. Goodluck
Sounds like a wheel alignment problem, but I'm no expert.

Maybe a pro-bike shop would have a better answer.
Less expensive (and sometimes not so less expensive) bike frames and forks sometimes are not perfectly straight and aligned. It's kind of like when your car pulls to one side of the road or the other, and the steering wheel is cocked sideways when you are driving straight down the road. I've never had this happen on any of my bikes, and I really don't know much about fixing a poorly aligned frame. I'd say take it to a bike shop, and let them know exactly what it's doing. My guess is going to be you need a new bike.
The bike could have a bent frame and/or fork.
If the fork isn't original, it could be the wrong length. Even a couple of centimeters could make the steering really funky. My guess is that when it was replaced, it got replaced with something too long, and now the steering is weird. My suggestion would be to take it to a local shop and have them check. They'll know if it's actually bent, has a bearing problem, or if I'm right, and the fork just throws off the geometry of the bike.
