I hear a clicking noise in my front driver's side wheel.? |
This sound seems loudest when I drive between 30-50 MPH. After that, I may be going too fast to hear it. I do not notice the sound while turning so does that rule out a CV joint problem? I just had my breaks inspected a couple of months ago. What could this be coming from? The best way to describe the sound is that of a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle tire ( I used to do that as a kid). Any idea on what this is and how much it will cost to repair? My car is a 99 Toyota Corolla with 120,000 miles. it still could be a CV joint,,i own a repair shop,,and i never rule one out till it has been checked really good,,that's how they sound when there getting worn out a little,it may still have grease in it,,but this don't mean its good,,you might want to take it and have a mechanic test drive it,,and get his opinion on it,,just to see what he says it might be,,you,ll get a lot of good answers on here,,but one thing we cant do is test drive your car for you,,and this is the only true way to know,,unless you just want to start spending money on it until you eventually find the problems,,by then it could get pretty expensive,,at least if you have someone drive it you,ll know,,i own a repair shop,,and have done this for 36 yrs,,but its impossible to tell you exactly what it is,,without seeing or drive the car,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s. Source(s): been a certified mechanic for 36 yrs. it could very much be the cv joints and boot. best thing to do is have them checked before you're driving around and get stranded. if your car has hub caps you might have a stone be hind the cap I could get all technical on this one but the most common solution is that you have picked up a stone or something similar and it is free to repair if that is what it is. My husband is a Mercedes Technichian Remove the hubcap and drive it to iliminate where the sound is coming from. Still there? CV joint! |
