What is the crash survivability of a buell firebolt? |
i am shopping for a new bike. i have a jap bike that i downed a year ago and it was easy to repair. it was just a minor low side. scuffed and such. i like the buells. i have ridden one. but i cant seem to find any info or pictures online about how the frame and swing arm handle crashes. with the gas and the oil inside the frame and swing arm, my concern is after a typical low side how does the frame and swing arm hold up? i dont hang it out like some guys do but i have been know to dump my bike and have it slide a couple of feet. my suzuki handled it fine. minus a couple of scuffs and dings and small replacement of parts. any help would be appreciated! thanks! i subscribe to all the bike mags and one of them have a long test segment on a buell, and it says nut and bolts brake, but what do you expect its a harley product, in the japanese culture everything has to be the best quality, you said it your self your jap bike was easy to fix stick with what works, it will be running long after the buell is dead and buried, not onlu that they are the coolest looking bikes on the planet, you'll never see a buell on the podium come race time, 10 i think I don't think a Buell will run long enough to have a crash will it? Don't crash and you wont have that problem!! Personally, I don't care about my bike so much as I care about me. Bikes can be replaced. Body parts - hmmm. I own a S-1 and its been bullet proof . I dumped it a week ago and snapped off the foot peg in a corner and was able to pick it up drive it home a use a tap and die on the peg and everything was fine |
