I am looking at a 1997 kawasaki ninja 600 when you hit 2nd gear the trans kinda slips in and out common or not |
the guys says its common but dosnt know the repair he also said the title says ninja 600 but under ccs says 750 do you think this bike was modified to a 750? The bike was beaten and the shift forks inside the trans are used. Very common when the bike was not taken care of r riden hard. (hard meaning badly) sounds like the forks in the gear box are bent.. the CCs of the bike should be cast into the barrels/Cylinder block of the bike... boring it out from 600 to 750 is a big rebore... so if its not a kit bike then I would say its not a 750.. with the gear box problems I would want to be getting it at a bargain price....(plenty of good bikes out there) 35 years riding & counting Unless it's very cheap, I would move on to another bike. If it slips in and out of gear, there is something wrong with the transmission (bent shift fork, or worse). Transmission repair is not cheap. You can do it yourself if you are mechanically inclined, but it's a job. As for modification to a 750cc, I would have to look at the bike. Like I said at first, I would skip it unless it's really cheap. |
