Can anyone help with an estimate of the cost of fixing a crashed Buell Blast? |
Please lay off the "get a better bike" comments, as I really need some help here. I am a poor college student and I don't have money to throw around, which is one of the reasons I went with a Buell Blast. Yes, I do like it, too! I recently crashed and would like to know an approximation of how much the repairs will be. Here's what appears to be wrong with it: One of the forks is bent (not extremely, but enough to notice). The other fork is fine, however, this bend had angled the wheel so now the rotor is scaping on the brake a small bit. I checked the wheel, and it (and the rotor) do not seem to be warped. (I hear forks for Blasts go for around $130 bucks, is this true?) When I push the bike foward, it turns to turn right, on it's own (I'm thinking this is due to the angled wheel). The engine and brakes are fine. If I replace the fork that is bent, it seems everything will be OK. What do you think? And is it possible to fix with a man who's had experience with fixing cars? If you can fix your mobility for less than $200, I say do it. any good repair shop should be able to fix a bent fork with out replacing it i had a cbr i low sided into a tree and both froks where bent the shop fixed them like new You can order replacement tubes from several machine shops and not just your local HD dealer. I suspect it will cost you about $100 to fix if you do the work yourself. Good luck and enjoy the ride. If you can email me I will hook you up with a wholesale supplier |
