My ipods headphone jack is not working right!?

this just started today. I went for a bike ride and has the ipod in my pocket and all of a sudden i can only hear the music out of one side. I tried to buy some new headphone to see if that was the problem and unfortunately it wasn't. I've looked at various posts online, and all i see is cleaning it with alcohol, or sending it in to get repaired. i don't think i want to do that, or get a new for the simple fact that my ipod is loaded with 27gb of stuff and it would take years to restore it back to it's old self. So i hope someone can help me fix this problem. Thanks

Some head phones have a button where you can switch between "mono" and "stereo".

To hear two sides, you need to switch the button to "stereo."

Good luck.
well maybe it's time for you to change them. according to this guy that i talked to at the apple store, he said u should change apple speakers every 6 months.(just tryna make money) but yeah
try buying a new set and see if it works... and if it dosen't then inform apple and ask them... and if they ask you if you want a new one then say yes because they can't figure out and 27 gb isn't alot... i have 79 gb full... so just get a new one if they ask u
i had the same problem. if youve had it less than a year than take it to an apple store with your recite and they will give you a refurbished one at no charge. thats what i did.
