ACL surgery recovery?

I'm 6 months post ACL repair by patellar allograft and a partial removal of a damaged medial meniscus on my right leg which is the dominant leg.

I can do a one legged squat with my left leg all the way down to full knee flexion and get back up. I can only get to about 80, maybe 70 degree flexion on my right leg when I try a one legged squat on my right knee.

Am I expecting too much too soon? Will my stronger dominant right leg ever be as strong as my left leg? will I ever be able to do a full one legged squat with my operated knee?

I'm 48 and very active in sports, especially snow skiing and mountain biking.

There is a possibility that due to your age, type of injury you sustained, and normal wear and tear on the body, that your right leg may not get as strong as it once was. I would suggest that you make an appointment with a Physiatrist (A physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation). He/she can tell you what kind of exercise regiment you can do or , refer you to a physical therapist if you need further therapy. I didn't have as extensive surgery on my knee like you did, but I have had a knee surgery and I know how mine felt. I wish you luck and I hope this will help answer your question.
