Looking for help in repairing a 1984 yamaha/elect/1000? |
bike has no wiring to it at the moment, just want to know how to get it started . remember that there's no wiring to this bike at all. They no longer make new parts for this bike.Make sure you can get good used parts or you are waisteing your time and money. Source(s): X-tech. If it was me, I'd start by buying the shop manual. If it has no electrical wiring, and you want to get it started, your only practical approach is to get a wiring harness and start from ground zero. And if you are not some kind of mechanical wizard, you need help. With a good shop manual, one can make up enough of a harness to get an engine to start, but if the goal is a ridable bike, this is a false step, get a used harness from a breaker, along with any/all other missing switches, sensors, etc, and start after it. I would really advise you to find a buyer who needs an engine, a frame, or whatever major parts you hav e, and buy a complete, running bike. Hate to be a spoil sport, but this is not an easy job.
