how to repair bicycles? what are a list of terms i need to know? what are some ways to get bikes for free? Thank you for your answers. for repairing bicycles - way too much to go here! BY FAR! There is a really good book for the home bike mechanic that goes pretty far into depth about almost everything. It is called "The Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repairs" and you should be able to either get it at a bike shop or tons of places online like amazon.com. It explains repairs, definitions for current and old style parts, etc. it is very good. As for getting bikes for free - other than stealing i have no idea. Garage sales though, you can often get bikes for well under $20 which is practically nothing. Other than that, talk to people who just bought new bikes?
