Clutch on it175 Yamaha 1982 bike how 2 repair it? -Drain oil -Remove L crankcase cover (clutch cover) -Loosen the bolts holding the pressure plate -Remove the bolts and springs -When you remove the pressure plate, be careful not to loose the ball bearing. Sometimes it sticks to the push rod. -If you take out the clutch boss, make sure you install the washer when re-installing. -If you are going to re-use the metal plates, make sure they're not warped (change if they are) and if they are burnt or discolored, steel wool them clean. -Soak the new clutch discs in oil -Re-assemble the clutch -Make sure the grooves in the pressure plate line up with the clutch boss. -Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Don't over tighten them (aluminum strips easy and the springs act as lock washers). -Clean off old gasket and install a new one. -Install cover -Remove oil level check bolt (below oil fill cap). -Hold bike upright (as if you were sitting on it) and add oil slowly untill it comes out the hole. -Adjust clutch lever free play so there is 1/8" or 4mm slack between clutch lever and pearch.
