Is anyone farmiliar with installing a kickstart shaft on a kawasaki kx bike? |
am i going to have to take apart the whole crank case or transmission to repair this bike or is there a simple way You need to always put the year and model of bike when you ask questions as the answers aren't always the same. On most dirt bikes the shaft is short and sits behind the clutch cover or RH engine cover. On some bikes they put it inside the engine cases, but that is not common. That said, on water cooled bikes it still isn't simple because you have the water pump to deal with which is driven off the right side. I would invest in a shop manual. You are going to need it anyhow to maintain your KX in race ready condition. Get some beer too. Source(s): Pro Kawasaki mechanic 1978-01 You have to take the kick lever off then the case that is over that - it is right there, I just replaced mine a few months ago - I have a book for it now - what a pain in the U-NO what I can copy the pages and email them to you if you need me to. |
