What is the best machine to get? rower, bike, boxing bag, or eliptical? I dont want to deal with repairs.?

In my experience, people who buy equipment with the firm intention of working out at home spend more time on the sofa than the crosstrainer, treadmill, rower etc. So I have seen A LOT of money get wasted on things which end up getting stored in the garage or under the bed and end up being sold on Ebay at a huge loss. My advice is save that money and spend it on an annual membership at your local gym. Even cheaper, buy a good pair of running shoes and join your local running club. Running peeps are very open to newbies and very friendly environments.

Whatever you end up getting, make sure its something you actually enjoy. A boxing bag will be a huge waste of money and space if you soon figure out that you get nothing out of boxing and kicking?? (Also about repairs: remember how heavy boxing bags are... not a clever idea if you have a plasterboard ceiling!!!)

What do you like doing?? You seem quite unsure. Why not try all these things out at the gym and figure what you like best as an exercise? That way you have the best chance of actually keeping it up at home.

If it HAS to be a "machine" and space is no problem I would advise you get a treadmill.

The one which helps u in ur chores.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.
Elliptical because it is like a stair climber and treamill in one. I like the bike but my trainer said too often she sees people that get too comfortable on the bike and just sit on it and slowly move while reading or watching TV.

On any elliptical you can burn 600 calories in an hour, 200 in 20 minutes... so I'm confused on the answer below me?
It's expensive, but the best machine to get is the Precor elliptical. And by "best" I mean, it's the only one you'll use. Usually when people buy a machine, they'll use it a couple of times, realize it's hard and the machine becomes a coat rack. On a typical machine you'd be sweaty and exhausted in 20 minutes and find you'd only burned like 60 calories, with the Precor you can easily do an hour or an hour and a half and burn 100 calories. And 3,500 calories is about a pound! The Precor is 100 times easier to stay on and keep doing. I only wish I could afford one!
