Value on a highly modified 92 Seca II? |
I'll try to keep my story short. I'm 20, and I decided I wanted to ride bikes, so I completed an MSF course and started seeking a used sportbike. I found this 92 Seca II that had a few performance parts on it, and met the guy. He rode it around blah de blah, and it was fine. The bike is great, no problems at all, except for the teeny little fact that it runs like a 900 (supposedely, 3-4 people told me it runs like a 900). The guy who built it was some sort of Yamaha factory specialist and built it for his son who wanted a race bike. They rebuilt the engine completely. I didnt realize this until I got on the bike and saw for myself just how careful you have to be with it. That baby will GO. So I'm doing the safe thing and I'm going to sell it to someone who is ready for it. I was just hoping you all could give me an idea on what I should start its price out for it (i'll post what I paid after I get a couple of responses). 24,000 miles on it, oil changed often. Some cosmetic damage on the plastics. Just a bunch of small scratches, nothing very noticeable. Vance Hines exhaust. Tires are alright. Anyways, I know its not worth much, I certainly didn't pay much, but you guys are the experts here. I''ll probably be trading it in for a cruiser or some sort. Thanks in advance. N. A. D. A. only goes back to 1995 and has it at about 1,115 to 1,500. You say yours is a 92 I do not know I think you would be lucky to get 2,000 out of it, very lucky. Lets see if I can piss you off again the seca II is a 86 FZ600 air cooled motor in a tube chassis rather than the beam chassis of the FZ (which by the way is better). I don't care what you think was done to it, its not going to run like a 900. I have a bit of experience in this matter as I raced a FZ600 superbike that was punched out to 700cc with flatside carbs total loss ignition, cams, etc, etc, etc (the bike finished most races in the top 5). It would get its *** whooped by a 91 cbr600f2, which are still way slower than 900s. That all being said its a good beginners bike, probably get 1200 to 1500 for it if its not too ugly. |
