Bike race TV coverage??

Can anyone tell me y there is very little or a very poor TV coverage of bike racing on uk tv?
EG-BBC and SKY show loads of tennis/darts/ snooker rugby/football etc etc they have hrs of practice on F1 (ITV)yet u get a 1hr program showing the GP WSBK BSB and sod all of the TT I TV4 show done 1hr programs on the TT this year and there was 35mins of bloody adverts.

and then you only get to see the first 4 bikes

Evening Mr N.Monkey

I quite agree with you about the TT coverage - It comprised of the presenters being stood in the winning garden of this years "I.O.M. In bloom competition" saying "now back to the racing!" followed by 3 nano seconds of racing, followed by them getting a Champers shower under the podium saying "join us tomorrow for more [crap] coverage!" bunch of erse!

I must add to Bears comment that I think the bike coverage is pretty good on Eurosport - although what [pleasantly] surprised me this year was how good the Beeb's coverage of the NW200 was.

You could watch all the practices and races on their I-Player, or your laptop (and plug the laptop into the telly) so I didn't miss much - though I wish I had missed seeing Robert Dunlop go down the road! It's always so much worse when you see racing accidents live and then just have to wait to hear the outcome - god knows how these peoples famillies deal with it?

Anyway - that was the only thing that spoiled what was excellent coverage of some great racing, but I have to say - if you don't have cable TV or a pooter, you're screwed!

as far as im aware, its all to do with the dreaded money again!!
whoever runs the event ie BSB=MSVR, WSBK= flamini group Moto GP= DORNA charge the TV companies to show their events! So like ITV has the F1 they will have paid so many million to get the live coverage, so they will inturn charge prospective sponsors the right to advertise in the F1 timeslot thus getting there money back that way.
So basically UK terrestrial Tv channels cant afford the coverage of WSBK BSB etc, simple as that!!

Because it shows real blood & guts racing and not something "safe" so therefore the decision makers have decided that we should be sheltered from this sort of thing, like at 37 and been riding for 26 years I don't know enough to make my own mind up, plus it is also cracking entertainment and we can't be having that can we, I mean we might actually enjoy watching a program for once. I pay 拢130+ a year for my T.V. licence, b@$t@Rd$.

Bear is right, the Eurosport network shows loads of bike racing from MotoGP to WSB to trails.

If its just the MotoGP you want, use there site.

For a first time costomer its about 鈧?0 for the year, (approx 拢44) but the service is second to none.

Eurosport channel, shows live comprehensive coverage,of GP,WSB and BSB.
