Will 110 octane fuel mess my bike up?

i see the gas station has 110 octane race fuel. i know i can't use it if it's leaded, which i'm not sure if it is or isn't, but if it's unleaded, will it mess up my bike?

2006 gixxer 750. bone stock except bmc air filter. i know i won't get a ton of performance using it since it's mostly stock, i'm just wondering if it will mess anything up if i use it or is it safe to waste money on?

No but why use it?

Octane rating does NOT measure anything other than resistance to self -ignition (from high compression). It does NOT measure energy content, quality, etc.

To get SOME use out of high octane, you have to modify your bike to be high compression and/or advance the timing. As stock the extra octane is just a waste of money.

Good Luck...

P.S. The next person if full of BS. Higher octane gas has more additive so it is LESS pure. Again, it does NOT measure how clean it runs, etc.

You probably do not want to run 110 in your bike. You could possibly, but you'll want to ask a qualified professional for your bike's engine

Higher octane does not necessarily mean "higher" quality or purity of the fuel and does not mean you will run "faster." It is a measure of the resistance to burn. The higher the number the higher the resistance. A high octane is great for high compression engines (epsecially high performance). The timing of the spark is delayed and allows for this high octane to be burned completely. For engines that are not designed to burn fuel in that kind of timing will result in an incomplete burn (incomplete combustion) and will cause carbon build up which WILL cause reduction in performance AND damage over time if not properly cleaned or dealt with. In some cases, damage can be very soon and abrupt. Your engine may also run a lot hotter than usual (than it was designed to) which can lead to more obvious problems such as overheating or blowing up.

I don't think you will see a significant improvement. Make sure you are getting 110 octane and not 150. Also check out the price first so you know how much you are throwing away.
I don't think it will ruin it but if the fueling is computerized it may run rough after you switch back and before it re-calibrates. If you do it, get half a tank or less so you can dilute it.

It may not run as well the higher the octane the slower the burn rate so if you bike does not call for it ,it is a waste of money and could perform worse
110 would be for a race engine and it doesnt sound like you have one
Mine is a 127ci S&S and 93 is plenty high for it

Wow more pure! someone needs to google octane

Race gas tends to be on the corrosive side you wont want it sitting in your bike
the performance gain in you bike will be from lightening your wallet

Sarra do you know that 30 years ago regular was 93 octaine and super was 97-102

lower compresson engines can run off of lower octane.

That 110 stuff is meant for old cars

110 is more pure than 93. In that sense it is better (more pure) octane. If 93 is SUPER unleaded, then 110 is SUPER SUPER unleaded.. lol I hope you understand what I mean, it is a cleaner fuel. It won't hurt your bike, but it is a waste of money unless you have some mods, and maybe was taking it to the drag strip.
