It's like riding bike.....or is it?

Have you found it to be true that once you ride a bike, you'll always be able to ride a bike?
I haven't ridden a bike since I was 12 and i'm 25 now and i'm going to be riding a bike from my friends place to a race we're both running. But I'm nervous about riding a bike in the city considering i haven't riden a bike for so long! so i wonder if you trully just naturally get right back on without trouble

Well these days bike riders wear a helmet, and they didn't really do that so much 13 years ago. Also you'll probably find it harder work now as an adult than it was as a child. Other than that, it really is like riding a bike, you should have no problems.

I would get on the bike before hand and get your balance back on it, so you don't look like a dork that just started riding a bike. Its try that you can learn when your a kid and when you turn into an adult you can still ride it, it just takes a little adjustment to get use to it again.

As with anything you don't do regularly, you won't tend to be as confident or skilled at it as if you were a regular practitioner, but the saying (in my experience) holds true. If there's something you've learned to do, unless you've had some physical or mental handicap occur over time, you should be able to always do that "thing".

If I were you, I'd practice beforehand as possible though. The more comfortable and confident you are, the less likely you are to make a mistake in traffic or around pedestrians that could result in injuries.

Ha, I had the same situation as you. It took me a few minutes to regain my balance (but I have balance issues anyway, heh), but other than that, you do pick it back up pretty quickly.

It would be a smart idea to practice first. You will do fine!!

yes you will be fine!
i haven't road a bike minus last year sence iw as aobut 13-15 and got on one in my late 20's a trail in the woods too! it was fine!

You might be a little awkward at first but sure it will come back to you. Just relax and pretend you are 12 again.

It'll be a bit weedy for someone of your physical proportions, unless it's a derestricted 2-stroke, which will be mechanically fragile and difficult to master. Look for a 250 at least.
