How much the standard bicycle tire air pressure is in the track racing? |

If you are talking about velodrome racing or certain types of street racing like Criterium's, you will most likely be using "Sew-Up" tires which are glued to the rim. These types of tires are capable (depending on model and brand) of being pumped up in excess of 160psi. The standard bike tire is called a "clincher" which the tire actually seals against the rim to keep the tube from blowing out. Clinchers generally aren't supposed to be inflated too far past about 120psi because the tire will want to blow off of the rim itself. For strictly racing purposes, Sew-Up tires are far superior because they can be inflated significantly higher, allowing faster speeds, but they are INCREDIBLY bad news for every day riding, because fixing a flat with a Sew-Up takes HOURS, but with clinchers it can take only minutes. Either way, the sidewall of the tire will tell you the maximum pressure you should inflate it to. Hope this helps! Source(s): Bike Mechanic and former semi-pro racer. I know a few things! check the sidewall of the tire for the PSI range... usually at least 110 to 120 on the track maybe 160-200 psi,with good track tubulars,my contis can go to 220 psi District track champ 140 PSI plus... assuming you're using sew-ups and depending on the brand. Make sure the glue is done right on the rim.
