if a moto GP bike n a formula 1 car r racing in the same circuit, which one vl lap faster? Formula1 by quite a bit. F1 cars can corner at almost 6G where a motorcycle can barely go over 2G. Also, believe it or not, but an F1 car can out accelerate MotoGP and also hit a much higher top speed. F1 can also brake at over 4G. If a motorcycle driver tried to brake that hard, he'd be flying over the handlebars. Remember F1 has several mechanical things over MotoGP: The cars are only 3 times heavier, but have 4 times the horsepower. The cars have aerodynamics helping keep the cars stuck to the track. The cars have much larger capacity brakes. The brakes don't even have any metal in them because they get up to 2000 degrees F. MotoGP is still cool though. I watch both of them as much as I can. The MotoGP lap record for Catalunya: 1:40:596 (2005 Rossi on Yamaha) The F1 record for the same exact Catalunya: 1:15:641 (2005 Fisichella in Renault) That time difference means that the MotoGP will have completed only 75% of a lap by the time the F1 car completes 100% of the 4.627Km lap. Another way to put that: If the F1 started in the last MotoGP Catalunya, the F1 car would have completed 30 laps by the time the MotoGP 24 lap race was complete. |
