2 boys missing, one of their bikes found in or near a dumpster. Amber Alert NOT warranted?? |
The boys are black. Do you think race has anything to do with it? I sure do. If these were two missing white boys, and one of their bikes were found in/near a dumpster, the Amber Alert would be out. The police are "reevaluating" their decision. Probably because they got so many complaints. From the codeamber website: Each program establishes its own AMBER Plan criteria; however, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children suggests three criteria that should be met before an Alert is activated. * law enforcement confirms a child has been abducted * law enforcement believes the circumstances surrounding the abduction indicate that the child is in danger of serious bodily harm or death * there is enough descriptive information about the child, abductor, and/or suspect鈥檚 vehicle to believe an immediate broadcast alert will help If these criteria are met, alert information must be put together for public distribution. This information can include descriptions and pictures of the missing child, the suspected abductor, a suspected vehicle, and any other information available and valuable to identifying the child and suspect. --- I guess it is possible that indeed the third point has not been met. Do you have a description/more info? A local news link you could give? I don't know how many page views a question gets but any little bit may help. Find other places to post, try the freerepublic forum, it's a big, active forum, quite a lot more conservative than I would generally be but they've posted about missing persons several times, giving lots of advise and help. We live in a world so hectic.. The family is in my prayers so instead of sitting here getting everyone riled up about some thought that this is racism at it's worst.....go do something about it...support the family, call the govenor...do something!!!! omg, i sure hope that it doesn't take an amber alert for these boys to be found soon! keep us posted. i'll pray that they are found soon!!!!! |
