I have an 02 gsxr 600 and would like to know what horsepower gains? |
If I add a yoshimura complete exhaust system (RS-3 Oval Race Duplex Exhaust System) including headers. I have an K& N filter intake already otherwise the bike is stock. You can realistically add about 6-8 pony's with exhaust and power commander combo's. The bike is well tuned factory unless send as much as 750 upgrade. This is what need to do. Change your sprocket tooth counts. Front and rear. Bigger in the back smaller in the front gets you power. Smaller in the back and larger in the front gets you speed. These changes can make substantial differences in the performance of the bike so be wise my friend! not a huge amount... if you rejet the carbs.. you can get a bit more... engines are just big air pumps... more air in .. more air out... more power at the back wheel... as long as the fuel burn is correct... the GSXR is already in a fairly high state of tune... but you will get some horsepower gain... ( probably only notice on the track) 35 years riding & counting not as much as if you sold the bike and put the money towards something newer a 600 is pretty much tapped out once it leaves the factory. the pipe and airfilter help, but u gota run ur powercommander to see any difference. Changing ur final drive ratio will either give u more acceraltion or more top end. I think ur looking for horsepower. U can have a speed shop go through the engine and u can get more ponies out of it. thats what they do with the factory racers. But ur life on the engine is gona go way down to. You could also look at putting a 750 engine in it. |
