5k with bands on the course? |
Hi, i'm the race director of a 5k in IL. We were considering putting bands on the course for our second annual run in June. The thing is the course is along a beautiful river, on a bike path that goes through the forest. So this is very much a scenic run, would having bands on course ruin this? Would this decrease our participants or greatly increase it? I would think with course you have and the sceneary you have, you would be much better off withOUT the bands. Believe me I love the races with the bands on the course but I would love to run your course for whats around it. Hope you get a lot of people out. Get some better freebies & raffle prizes. I've run the 5k as part of the Big Sur International Marathon. They have bands along the way, and they don't seem to take away anything from the amazing views. The music is soft and orchestral in nature, so I'm not sure how other genres of music might fit in. I say "Go for it!!" i would enjoy a race with music. i think it would break up the race. |
