Motorcycle Drag Racing - How to? |
Ok I'm new to this drag thing, i got a zx636r 05 and i'm doing about 11.4xx on a regular basis. my reaction has been dropping but i keep pulling up into a wheele when i take off which causes me to let off the accelerator and loose time. i looked up the times for my bike (and many others) and for my model and my year it was just about a second less than what i was hitting. (10.38) how would i decrease my 1/4 mile time? Also i was talking with some guys and they told me to rev up to about 10-12 G's on the RPM and then dump the clutch. personally i thought that they were crazy cuz that would result with me on my back looking at the stars but they said that it would cause the bike to peel out and when it cathes i would be off like lighning? who is right here? thx guys PEACE! Just like you said you are new to the sport. The best way to do anything is practice as much as possible. Go to as many races as possible and ask questions of others who are doing the same thing. Check on modifications or clutch setups to help the bike launch more softly, not pulling the front off the ground. Read as much as possible too. |
