Cycling with neuromas? |
I have a neuroma in both feet. I am being treated for them. I am now down to once every three months from once a week, for alchol injections. The injections are slowly killing the nerve that the tumor rests on. My problem is that when I ride, I have to put pressure on the forefront of my foot to pedal, which in turns ends up bothering the neuroma and causes me pain. This happens when I wear tennis shoes or bike shoes. I am looking for any suggestions that may make this situation easier. If you haven't already, get yourself some good fitting cleated cycling shoes and pedals. They have a stiff sole so pressure can be spread over the whole foot, not just the area in contact with the pedal. Using a padded insert or getting your foot strapped should help also. |
