Why cant i loose weight?


okay im 13 stone,and 5"7, female..

i eat around 1200 calories a day.. im not to have less than that as i know its just as bad.. ive stopped dinking & eating rubbish. i dotn eat after 8, or snack, i drink lots of water...

i joined the gym last week and i went 3 times, an hour a time, and ive been twice this week so far.each seesion i have lasts an hour - an hour 15? i do

10 mins - rowing machine
20 mins - bike
25 minues - tradmill
10 minutes - cross trainer & pedal things for my arms.

idont have much time for much else, but ill rotate and change the time on each machines im not doing the same every day.

its been a week and since i last got weighed lst tuesday i was exatly 13 stone.. i am now 13 stne 2.7 lbs

why am i putting weight on?
i really want to loose a stone by july!
i have heard this is possible...


i heard you gain weight because your ganing muscle, i dotn know if thats what it is, but when will this sop and ill actualyl start loosing fat?..

also i have a bowl of cereal for brakfast each morning, and usully a sandwich/ bagel, & peivce of fruit and 2 slices of ryveta for lunch eac day.. not everyday.. just an example of the potion size i eat... then for my dinner, normally vegetables, potaotes and something else with that.

and i dont sit and wach telly!

my main place i want to loose weight is my arms.. this is why i dont want to weight train as for a female if i weight train because i have big arms and sholders - i shall end up lookin like hulk hogan if i do weights...

i dont know any other information i can ad that can help any suggestions...

In order to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume in a day. First you will want to find out what your BMR is. The BMR is number of calories that you will burn in a day without doing anything. For example, my BMR is approximately 1500. I will burn approximately 1500 calories tomorrow even if I lay in bed all day. There are calculators available online that can give you an approximate number for your age and weight.

If I want to maintain my weight I can eat approximately 1500 calories a day without exercising. If I exercise I can eat more. If I wanted to gain weight, I would need to eat more than 1500 calories on a constant basis.

A pound is approximately 3500 calories. In order to lose one pound a week, you can either burn and additional 500 calories a day through exercise or you can cut 500 calories a day from your diet. At the end of the week you will be down 3500 calories, or one pound.

The problem with keeping your diet at 1200 calories is that you may not be providing your body with enough calories (or energy). If you do not provide your body with enough calories than it can go into 鈥渟tarvation mode鈥?and actually HOLD ON to excess fat to keep from starving.

You may not see results yet because it has only been a week. Generally it takes 2-4 weeks to actually notice results. Don鈥檛 get discouraged though! You are right that muscle weighs more than fat so rather than going on weight, trying keeping track of your measurements as well. You will definitely see results that way.

Cardio is the best way to lose weight quickly but don鈥檛 forget weight training as muscles burn more calories!

You probably gaining weight cuz you can't spell losing correctly. jk. anyways you can't just expect results right away, so just keep to it for a month and you'll be fine. In the beginning of work out periods people normally see a weight gain at first. Then the lose comes. don't forget it is unhealthy to lose more than 3 or 4 pounds a week.

well i suggest you dont sit on the couch eating all day and go running or walking. running hurts your knees in the long run, and power walking can be very efficient. dont you ever see the comericals that say the equipment at the gym never works. maybe you should buy the bender ball and work those abbs girl. there is also the jenny craig diet. and if all else fails.. plastic surgery (:

Yeah muscle causes weight gain, if you can't lose weight it might be you have a slow metabolism. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and eat smaller meals, not less meals though (since that would be skipping meals, which slows the metabolism even more)

you may be losing fat and ganing mustle....
