The rear brake on my 1992 ninja 500 is squeking. What should I do?

I don't really know much about bikes I just bought this bike(my first) about three weeks ago. So far everything has been working really well except my back brake squekes when I push on the rear brake pedal. The bike has 16k miles, do I need to have my brakes serviced? How often should everything on my bike be serviced? How much does it cost to have a bike shop to service my rear brake?

Brake dust and road debris gets embedded in the brake pads.
Remove the brake pads and clean them with brake cleaner (available at auto parts & bike shops).
Clean the rotor also.
While the pads are out, scuff them up with coarse sand paper, or a wire brush.
Always be careful the first time you ride, after installing brake pads.
Test the brakes to make sure they work properly.
Especially new pads - they have to be broken in (scuffed up) before they work.

Get it repared if you can afford to.

Change the brakes. Depends on how hard you are on your brakes as to how often.

its probably getting old or use some oil or get it repair

Better be safe then sorry. Get it repaired as soon as posible.

Rear brake pad don't last long for motorcycles compare to cars. I would have it ck out asap. If you don't it might lock up the rear tire up.

Most brake pads have a wear indicator that makes them squeak when they are worn down. But, some of the new harder pads squeak all the time. If yours just squeak when applied, I'd say that it is time to replace them.

anti squeel shims or some copper slip grease on the rear of the pads.

Check the brake fluid first.

You should have the bike serviced anyway since you just got it.

I usually have the bike serviced at the beginning of each season. My dealer charges about $100 bucks for the oil, lube, and check of everything.

first get some good brake cleaner and wipe off the rotor with a lint free cloth you DON'T want to use grease. then if they still squeak take your bike in and have them change the fluids and check for pad and rotor wear. shouldn't cost you to much.(less than losing your brakes and skidding down the road)

fix it that would take care the squeaking lol lol

change the pads and rotor
