What is the best tricycle for a 2 year old? |
My son is turning 2 in a few months. We want to get him a tricycle, he is always trying to get on his 5 yrold sisters bike, which he is much to small for. Ihave been looking at ones, that are for ages 2-4 w/No pedals, that the kids I guess push w/their feet. And there are a lot starting at age 2 that have pedals. I like the pedals b/c it would be more like his sisters bike, BUT, being that he is small for 2 , will he even be able to use the pedals? And I think that no pedals is supposed to be good for balance........., and they are made so they dont tip. I would love ANY advice. Thank you I got my son this one from Radio Flyer: http://www.radioflyer.com/trikes/trikes_... It has a handle so you can push them, and it also folds for storage. We were pleased. My son is 2 1/2 and 36". We got him a tricycle (Fisher Price) for Christmas and he STILL cannot reach the pedals (on the lowest setting). I'm hoping he will be able to soon. Until then, he pushes w/ his feet. Make sure he is there to sit on them before you buy. Go with a radio flyer. We got ours at Toys R Us and it has a removeable handle bar so when he is learning you can push and when he gets the hang of it you can let him go. It also has a little compartment in the back he can stick stuff, my daughter loves putting her toys, rocks, snack, etc in it. We got for our daughters 2nd birthday and she could reach the pedals fine and she is very small for her age. If you can't decide what to get, take him to toys r us and let him try a few tricycles out. They usually have some on display that you can test, that way you know you can get one that fits him the best. |
