Anybody know an online source for ordering metal bicycle pedals for my Huffy Stalker DS mountain bike? |
Anybody know an online source for ordering metal bicycle pedals for my Huffy Stalker DS mountain bike? Nashbar.com or performancebike.com Take it to a local bike shop and buy a real bike... If Huffy made an airplane, would you fly in it???!!!!?? UncleNeal is correct in the long run, but if you just NEED new pedals for your bike until you can save for a real bike, just go to a local bike shop, buy some quality pedals (anywhere from $15 to $40) and have them install them for you!!! DO NOT attempt to install your pedals yourself, as one side is right hand thread, and the other side is left hand thread. I can GUARANTEE if you try it yourself, you will cross thread the pedals into the wrong side of the crank and ruin the pedals AND the crank. Honestly, if you are just "upgrading" your Huffy, but the pedals work fine, use the money you would have spent on the pedals as a down payment on a lay-away for a brand new, quality bicycle from your local bike shop. Just go take a test ride on a high quality bike from Trek, Specialized, KHS, Gary Fisher, or other similar "bike shop only" brand bikes. You will be AMAZED at the difference in Performance, Equipment, Weight, Quality, and Fit! Hope this helps!! More than a decade as a Bike Mechanic and Salesperson. I know my stuff! Please don't take that bike off road! Please get it looked at by real mechanics in a real bike shop at least! If you purchased that bike in a department store, you could kill yourself, as they are put together by inexperienced kids getting paid piece-work!! As for the pedals, as said above...just get a real bike. Pinkbike.com could help!!! |
