Doubts regarding TVS Champ (MOPED bikes manufactured in India)? |
we use pedals for starting this vehicle, but then after the vehicle(engine) runs, it doesn't affect the pedals, what is the mechanism used in such pedals..? -The pedals turn the rear wheel just like a bicycle (chain and sprockets. They're on the left side of the bike). -There is a drive belt on the right side. -There is a CVT clutch on the right attached to the crankshaft (The CVT clutch and belt is the same drive mechanisim used in scooters). http://auto.howstuffworks.com/cvt.htm... -When you pedal the bike, the chain turns the rear wheel, the wheel turns the belt and the belt turns the crankshaft to start the motor. -There is a lever at the rear of the chain case. The lever either engauges or disengauges the rear sprocket from the rear wheel. -With the sprocket disengauged, when the engine speed increases, the CVT clutch turns the belt, which turns the rear wheel. starter |
