Will I get a speeding ticket if I pedal my bicycle above the speed limit? It depends if ur on the road but i doubt u will be able to thts stupid ?Yep. Cyclists are subject to the same laws as motorists. I've seen it happen. If your bike had a license plate, yes If you can do that, you could get a ticket. I doubt you can, excluding school zones. You can, but it has to be you going faster than the flow of traffic. There is no way for you to know how fast your going without traffic around you, and if you get a ticket, you can argue that in court. I have recieved 6 speeding tickets on my bicycle for going 20+ over. Only 2 of them had surrounding traffic and one of those I was being passed by the cars on the road (won on a base of discrimination against bicyclists). Out of the six, I was only considered guilty on 1, but was just asked to slow down for my safety and court costs. |
