Really need help pls?

A very tough question regarding...?
In a chain drive mechanisms, which can be found in bicycles with the pedal attached to the driven sprokect, the driver sprocket rotates through 360 degree. If the transmission ration of this chain drive mechanism is 0.65,at what angle will the driven sprocket rotates.

Next,A girl weighing 50kg sits at one end of a plank. When a load is placed on the other end, avertical distance of 60cm is detected while the girl is raised by 30c.Calculate the transmission ratio of the plank

Pls help and explain :)

Hi,

I'll give it a shot, but I'm not 100% sure.

If the transmission ratio of this chain drive mechanism is 0.65, and the driver sprocket had 100 teeth then the other sprocket would only have 65 teeth, due to the .65. But since teeth match one to one in the mechanism, that means the other sprocket would have to turn faster through more degrees to have enough teeth roll past to mesh with the drive sprocket. So I believe it would have to move through 100/65(360 degrees) or 554 degrees.

For part b, when the load end moves a vertical distance of 60 cm, but the other end only moves 30 cm, it seems like the ratio from the first end to the second is 30/60 or 1/2. It sounds logical in that the girl was only moved half a s far.

I hope that's right and that it helps.
