Is this possible to build to use to drive to work to cut gas consumption? |
three wheel bicycle,electric powered or pedal if run down battery,also small gas engine to recharge top speed 50 mph 2 to 3 gal gas tank all lights turn signals radio canvas top like a jeep heat and ac I'm working on an idea like that myself, but you can forget about the 50 MPH and the air conditioning unless you are talking about a vehicle that would have to be certified for highway use. You said three wheeled bicycle, for what you are talking about we have to move to a three wheeled motorcycle as the starting point. Use a bicycle as far as possible for personal use it could work If you have the money and time most things are possible, not all things are prudent. Learn the difference and you'll not have to ask such questions. However impossible things are done because somebody took action on a dream. Necessity is the mother of invention. There is a company that sells a 4-wheel bicycle already. Visit them at www.rhoadescar.com. You can choose from a 1,2, or 4 seater. You can add battery operated power assist. Multiple gearing selection. Several accessories including lights and turn signals. Canopy available also. No heat or a/c though. This would require a lot more to accomplish. Not sure of top speed. There are also many motorcycles out there getting upwards of 65 mpg. If you buy a bike with a fairing and have rain gear you can ride almost every day. If you live where it snows buy a Ural. (Motorcycle with sidecar, can purchase with 2 wheel differential and has a gear to go in reverse.) |
