If I pedal 30 minutes a day will I lose some weight? |
I haven't rode my bike since it broke and I was wondering if I rode my new bike like 30 minutes a day(thats my minimum amount by the way) will I lose some type of weight. My mom encourages me to ride it and I get the hint she wants me to lose weight. Also, what parts of your body gets the most workout out of bicycling? it depends if you peddle briskly then maybe but it all depends on your calorie intake vs the calories you burn off. it you eat 3000 calories and only burn off 500 then you prob won't loose weight. Yes, your legs of course. What did you think? Yes you will, if it's on a regular basis, and you watch the food you eat also. You will lose weight overtime but not all at once. Any exercise will do good for your health. Good luck! Assuming you don't change your eating habits at all, you should see some weight loss over some period of time. How fast you see the weight loss depends on how far you ride, how fast, you ride and how difficult the area you ride in is. 30 minutes of riding uphill is much harder than 30 minutes of riding downhill, and 30 minutes of riding and going 3 miles is nowhere close to the amount of energy you burn if you ride 10 miles in 30 minutes. What muscles will get the work out? All of your leg muscles with mostly your quadriceps. This is an extreme example, but I did it so it's true =D. I went on a biking trip from San Francisco, CA back to where I live in Anaheim Hills, CA, biking along the Pacific Coast Highway. It took me 11 days (since I didn't really train before I started) but in those 11 days of riding about 10 hours a day I lost 7 lbs. I ate whatever I wanted, drank whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. It's an extreme case, but yes, cycling is an excellent way to burn and lose fat. GOod luck Yes you will. I i've road for 10 minutes before and lost 1/2 a pound... You will lose weight if you do NOT increase your caloric intake. Lay off the McDonald's (like ALL of it) and you'll lose more weight AND feel better. You can lose weight if you eat less. |
