They are almost always single-passenger derived from tricycles, with a full fairing & many are homebuilt They are expensive BUT if money was not an issue or far less of an issue would you consider using a velomobile as transportation? Why or why not? What preconcieved notions do you have about them? Would they be socially acceptable were you live? Yeah. What's not to like. Cheap to run, zero emissions, and you can kiss your fat **** goodbye. As for slow power assisted velos regularly attain speeds well in excess of 50km/hr on the flat. World speed record 80+ Mph(unassisted). Unpopular due to price, could buy a used sedan for much the same price. Then there is turning up sweaty. Probably about as socially acceptable as riding a bicycle The added weight of the enclosure makes them inefficient. They would not be socially accepted.
