If cars have a minimum speed limit, why are bicycles allowed on our roads?

There is a 5 (+/-) mile stretch of road between my home and my work, where the speed limit is 45-50 mph. On much of that road, the double-yellow-lines rule--mainly due to the limited visibility in spots and sideroads. Why is it legal for a person to pedal-power a bike along that route??? Dangerous is an understatement--to the rider AND drivers. Thanks, in advance, to all who respond.

You didn't mention the minimum speed on that road just the speed limit which is typically the upper boundary limit.

It may be dangerous and it may not be dangerous. The determining factor will be the actions of the cyclists (are they to the right, single file and predictable?) and the actions of the drivers (do they speed, take stupid changes, drive recklessly?). Bikes are vehicles just like cars. And, cyclists have just as much right to be on a road as a car unless bikes are prohibited.

Ultimately, if you can't see, then don't try to pass. If you are getting frustrated, then it is YOUR problem not that of the other people on the road.
Not enough money for bike paths at that scale.Impractical.
does the road you refer to have a minimum speed limit? generally, minimum speed limits only apply on highways and interstates, where bikes are not allowed.
I've never seen a road with a posted minimum speed that allowed bicycles or motorcycles under 250cc. For sure on interstates no little motorcycles or bicycles are allowed. A posted speed limit is the maximum speed allowed. If there is a minimum it must be posted as such.
Bikes and horses are not allowed on roads with minimum speed limits (simply because they can't be expected to keep to it).

If the speed limit is 50mph, then the idea of there being a lower speed limit is laughable.
To keep them off the sidewalk.
BICYCLES MUST BY LAW FOLLOW THE SAME RULES THAT ALL VEHICLES DO BUT,

Bicycles and mopeds not traveling at the normal rate of speed "shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable.
