Best way to mail a bicycle?


I have a bicycle box, and have no problem
removing pedals, loosening gooseneck, or
the mechanics of it. But who is the cheapest
or safest carrier (USPS, UPS, Fed-Ex, other).
Plan to insure for 500$.

I would go with Fedex Ground or UPS
Check the rates online.
Postal Service does not handle large packages wellMy friend shipped his bike using USPS.

Greyhound is useful for shipping overweight/oversize packages affordably, I had a piece of exercise equipment shipped to me this way. You do have to pick it up at a station, though.
