Buyer wants to return item? Ebay???help!? |
Ok, so I didn't say in the auction that I accepted returns, in fact, I didn't mention returns at all. I sold a set of bicycle pedals to this guy for $75, and now he's saying they weren't as described, and he wants a refund. Now I know these pedals were brand new off a brand new build. Granted, he could have bought them ANYWHERE on the web for $40, but he bid up to $75 for them. I think he's just having buyers remorse cause he bid way to much for them. I can't really help how much I get for them though. I mean, if push comes to shove I may offer him like $25 back, after all, I would have been happy just getting $35 for them! Anyways, am I obligated in anyway to just refund him the money? He does not want to send them back any more that you want to take them back. However he does not want to pay twice the price. I think the $25 rebate should do the trick. You other alternative is to stick to your guns and point out that an auction bid is a legal contract. However paypal usually is too buyer friendly and will probably refund him the money if he sends them back. I would just out of good faith. You can keep your % up and he may leave a good comment. you don't have to get them back, he has to comply with the Ebay policies, and he can't just send them back because he didn't like them, he will probably open a dispute on paypal, but if you have proof that you sent it you have nothing to worry |
