Help ........ physic assigment again? |
1. Explain the basic ideas that govern the design and operation of a roller coaster. under what condition can successive hills be as high as or higher than the initial one? 2. Time yourself to see how long it takes you to do 10 deep knee bends. Then estimate how much work you do in lifting yourself back up each time. From these numbers, estimate the rate at which you were doing work. 3. Why do you shift to a lower gear to pedal a multi speed bicycle uphill? do you save energy in doing so? 4. What do we mean when we say that a weather map indicating temperatures represents a scalar field but a man indicating winds represents a vector field? 5. Show how you would add the following three vectors: 10 units north, 10 units south, and 10 units straight up. 6. A waiter in the dining car of a smoothly riding train pours a glass of water for a passenger. How would his task be affected if the velocity of the train is zero, if the velocity is nonzero but constant, and if the train is accelerating? Julie, if you don't understand problems this simple in HS physics, don't go into physics in college. Please get yourself a study buddy for physics. I'm not going back in time to do HS assignments. stop being so lazy and do the work yourself That's a lot of work. I don't have time to answer those. I am not sure whether a detailed study of this joyful ride will enhance the joy or it will ruin it altogether. After all people don't go to funfairs to study dynamics of physical motion and complex differentials equations involving acceleration and velocity. And then there is the interplay between gravity and inertia. If this is not enough there are health and safety issues at the top of the priority list. And ya, stop being lazy and do some work yourself. After you have finish your toil over this give yourself a treat and go for a joyride on helterskelter for by that time you will not be able to enjoy roller coaster. 1. Try Law of conservation or energy, potential & kinetic energy. 2. I'm not doing the knee bends!!!! Work is force acting through a distance/displacemtn. Since you're doing it back and forth, you're not going anywhere...hence no work!!!!hehehe 3. I dont do bicycles uphill..it's difficult!!!! Technically, you're still carrying the same thing, your ***. The same energy is used, but less effort. Less effort but longer(pedal more ), more effort and shorter(pedal less). Try it!!! count the number of pedals that you do for each gear.....hehehe 4. Temperature are scalar (magnitude only....numbers like wieght, time, etc). Wind have DIRECTION and velocity, hence vector. 5. Let (+)positive be up...and (-)negative be down. Left (-) and right (+). For your example...10-10+10= you know the answer 6. CASE 1: Water falls directly onto the glass CASE 2: constan veocity = 0 acceleration = Case 1 CASE 3: Water falls at an angle READ...dont be lazy |
