My bike pedal broke and i havent saved up enough yet?

on sunday i was biking and as i was stranding up going 23mph my left pedal just broke off and the metal piece that held it to the lever is broken in two. I need to know how to fix this, it is my only source of cycling. I cant get a new bike yet so how can i SAVE my bike!

Hey.

If you can grab onto it with a wrench, you can get it out - if not, and you can grab it with vice grips, you may be able to.

Left pedal is the opposite thread, so to unscrew it, you need to turn it clockwise.

Worst case, you can always replace the pedal and the left crank arm (the "lever"). Ask the shop if they can sell you some demo pedals (est. $10) and a replacement left crank arm (i don't know what it is but between $10 - 30 should do it).

good luck Source(s): work in a bike shop
1st answer likely told you what you need to know. I worked in a bike shop for years as a kid and been around bikes all my quite long life and I NEVER saw a pedal spindle break in two!
