How do i remove a Bike Pedal which is stuck? |
I can take off the left pedal but the right one won't come off no matter what i do If it's a one piece crank, the threads might be left-hand instead of right-hand, ( righty-tighty lefty-loosey don't apply for a left-hand thread. ) the part where the wrench would go is either 1/2 of 9/16 in size, so make sure you have the correct one by trying both, otherwise you may strip it out. Try using a small propane torch from a hardware or auto parts store to heat up the crank around the spindle of the pedal to get it to expand from around the threads. Just be careful if it's painted or aluminum, don't use a torch because you will either melt it, (the crank, ) or the paint. Try using PB Blaster which can be bought anywhere. It's a catalyzing penetrant which is much better than WD-40 for removing stuff. If it's a 3 piece crank though, remove the crank arm, lock the pedal spindle in a vise, and turn the crank arm t remove it. ~Just My 0.02 Try WD40....let it work its magic a few hours It has backwards threads, Turn it the opposite direction. Left-hand thread. Pipe wrench, wd40 and a hammer..... or pipe wrench, vise grip, wd40 and a hammer. Use the hammer if all else fails. Both of the above, failing that whack it with a hammer.ktf.x collateral damage.x A Hammer If That Does't Work'Get A Bigger Hammer If That Doesn't Work Throw the Damn Thing Away And Get A New One The Pedal Is Not Stuck On |
