Strange Feeling...? |
I've been getting this very strange series of emotions that happen at the weirdest times. It's kind of hard to explain it because I don't think there's a word for it yet, it's kind of like feeling sad and mysterious at the same time, which follows with a sort of claustrophobic feeling like "I gotta get out of here!". I remember it started a few summers ago, I woke up at 5:50 in the morning by myself, not feeling tired at all. I put on my clothes and went into my backyard. I remember it specifically, it was dark of course, and clouds had completely covered the sky, and I could smell rain aproaching. Suddenly the sad mysterious feeling kicked in and a few minutes later for some reason I got short of breath and had to get out of there. I hopped on my bike and pedalled all the way to the park, where I eventually felt better. Now I'm just getting it for no reason, sometimes at night time and almost everytime it rains, theres something about the rain. So what's going on? What's this feeling? Honey, you've gone insaaaaaaaaannnneeeeeeeeeeeeee... HAHAHAHA(evil laughter). I'd suggest talking to someone, just anyone on rainy days, don't think about it, at all! if it does happen memorize the feeling and write it down for future reference sounds almost like your body is telling you that you need to get out of there cause something bad is going to happen. have you ever gone back and found out that something dangerous or bad had happened Just anxiety. If it gets worse talk to your MD. He/she can refer you to a good Psychiatrist. Sounds like you might be having panic attacks disregard the rain feeling. Your dreams may contain rain in some way. Even though you may not remember dreams can still affect you in some way. I have seizures at night when I'm sleeping some times and I know my dreams have alot to do with it. Be greatful it isn't that. Tell your doctor. Panic attacks can be treated. From what you report, it sounds as though you have having an internal reaction to change in weather. A few years ago, we had a small tornado in our neighborhood and it traumatized me slightly. I say slightly because it changed the way I react to thunderstorms- but I do not "freak out". It just had a real effect on me. I don't go upstairs in my home when its raining anymore. I think that movies or visual experiences might produce a deep emotional reaction like this too. Do you remember seeing a movie about severe weather or reacting emotionally to the Katrina or tsumai stories from several years ago? Or was anyone you know in a weather related emergency? Another possibility is that this feeling is triggered by a suggestion you received from someone without even knowing it- if it doesn't bother you, you might want to share this with a small group at church or school, just to get it out in the open... and then figure out a coping strategy to deal with the panic. It doesn't sound like a full fledged panic attack yet, but it would be good to find the trigger and address it. http://www.anxietypanic.com/ |
