Yesterday at my aunt's and uncle's house I got chased by a mutt. He wasn't that big but he wasn't so small ...

either. Well I asked my aunt and uncle what should I do and my aunt says just yell at the dog and he'll go away. I haven't tried that yet cause I was trying not to get bit. My uncle says take a bat and beat the crap out of it or take it and throw it like a football. Yesterday I did almost get bit but I swerved out the way because I had a bike. Here's how the story goes. I was outside with my little cousin and he was playing basketball. I told him I'm going to the coldesac. He says ok. I'm speeding down the hill and out of no where a Saint Bernard and that little mutt come chasing me. But the Saint bernard has an electric collar so if she can't come out. The mutt starts chaing me into the coldesac where I pedal faster thatn he can go. So goes to a neighboors lawn and looks around. So I'm heading toward the house and he's comes out the driveway and starts chasing me again and this time he was going real fast I get to the house and he doesn't come on my aunt's lawn so he stops chasing me.

You've made this a game for the dog, it wants to run and you and the bike are perfect for chasing. You need to talk to the owner of this dog, there should be some leash law in your area and if they wont keep the dog tied up then call animal services and tell them. They will fine the owners and after a few of those the owner will have no options. Just think if a little kid were to be on a bike, and could not go as fast as you.
In the mean time you need to stand your ground. Take the bat, but don鈥檛 hit the dog or threaten it, this will only get you bit. Take it only for a last resort. You need to stand up to the dog and yell NO. Do not turn your back to the dog, and do not be afraid. If you turn your back the dog will come after you. Make the dog understand that you are not his toy. Try doing this on foot first and then your bike. Again the bike is the perfect toy, and it is very hard for a dog that likes to run, to stop himself from chasing you.
You sound screwed up and so do they.
He probably chases cars also.
DO NOT take a bat to the animal; with some breeds it is instinct to chase (prey) or herd (sheep or cows)
Call the owners; he is going to get hurt, if not by your uncle then by some yahoo who thinks it would be funny to run him over. You might print out the following article and share it with them.

Your aunt.. But I would suggest that you don't taunt the dog with your bike.. I would find out where the dog lives and talk to the people.. Maybe they don't know that their dog is terrorizing people. They might like to know that it's happening, so that they can stop it before someone takes their dog away cause it bites some kid on his bike.

Beating someone's dog will only get you into deep trouble.. It won't solve anything other than you will be in jail and the dog will still be chasing people down. Don't listen to your uncle!
If the Mutt starts chasing you and your on your bike, and would recommend to stop so you don't risk getting hurt. Get off your bike and grab it by the coller and take it back home. Trust me I have 2 evil dogs at my house works everytime.
Neither, if he is trying to attack you, and is not controlled, you need to inform animal control. the dogs owners need to keep him fenced in.
i don't agree that you should beat a dog down. maybe you can call the pound. is it a neighbors dog. see if you can talk to them about it. but if it is a stray then get the pound involved.
