Doubts regarding TVS Champ (MOPED bikes manufactured in India)?

we use pedals for starting this vehicle, but then after the vehicle(engine) runs, it doesn't affect the pedals, what is the mechanism used in such pedals..?

-The pedals turn the rear wheel just like a bicycle (chain and sprockets. They're on the left side of the bike).
-There is a drive belt on the right side.
-There is a CVT clutch on the right attached to the crankshaft (The CVT clutch and belt is the same drive mechanisim used in scooters).

-When you pedal the bike, the chain turns the rear wheel, the wheel turns the belt and the belt turns the crankshaft to start the motor.
-There is a lever at the rear of the chain case. The lever either engauges or disengauges the rear sprocket from the rear wheel.
-With the sprocket disengauged, when the engine speed increases, the CVT clutch turns the belt, which turns the rear wheel.
