Stealing a sportsbike?

I was just wondering how easy it is to steal a sportsbike. One of my cousins has a friend who recently got out of jail after serving 5 years for stealing sportsbikes. I know there are different locks and things you can buy, but is there any way to make it impossible to get ur bike stolen if you keep it parked outside? (and no i dont wanna CHAIN the bike to an iron post or something)

They now have Lo-Jack for motorcycles. It doesn't PREVENT it from being stolen but it will help recover stolen bikes. It has over 90% recovery rate.

Good Luck...

Tie a pit bull to it.

Seriously, if you park the bike outside, do you best to park it as near as possible to your home as possible in a well lighted area and near a window where is can be viewed. A thief may be less likely to try to steal something if he think he is going to be noticed by you or by your neighbors.

If you are going to be away from the bike a couple days or longer, it would be in your best interest to chain up the bike to a post or even consider renting a storage unit to temporarily garage the bike if you don't have a garage or a friend's garage to park it.

Video monitors and cameras to catch a possible theif in action is another thing to consider.

Join the NRA and put one of their stickers on your bike. Put a laser scope on your pistol so you shoot a better pattern at night.

I live in one of those states where people who aren't even interested in guns have a few laying around....not very much crime here. My neighbors don't lock their doors, I often don't bother locking my car or even rolling up the windows when I go to a store.

Michael Moore should have come to my state after he went to Canada.

it would be pretty easy to steal a bike. if you hav like a side gate to ur backyard, then you could just walk it thru there. or clear a little space in the garage.

and wats wrong with chaining both tires to posts? lol.

if a thief wants something bad
it is gone
it does not matter if it is your living room
a thief is the lowest person on earth
people work to hard for someone to just think that they deserve it more and not have to pay for it

no
it can be thrown in a truck in less then a minute if they want it and chains and such can be cut fast also

goodluck

yes, the NRA is good, but a disc lock and an alarm are great deterrents.
