How can I protect my garage from being broken in to while we're not home?

Although we live in a small town in a friendly neighborhood, our subdivison has had 3 robberies in the past week or so, which is more than the past 10 years! Even worse, our neighbor called us the other day to tell us that someone was looking in our windows, and the police wouldn't do anything about it.

While I'm at school, and my parents are at work, I'm definitely scared. We have two garage door which cannot be opened manually, and a side door, and a shed which is always locked. Our house is always on surveillence by our neighbors since then, so we aren't too worried, but we have locked doors and windows, too.

On our garage, the door is always locked, and so is everything else. We don't have a entry pad or anything... but we do have 3 good-condition bikes which we would hate to have stolen, and a tractor which is new and again, bad news.

The side door needs 2 B reinforced from the inside. U can purchase simple brackets that bolt to the door frame, then U lay a 2 by 4 across the door. I have 2 sets on mine and I know they work because I some a burglar trying to break in one night !! U may want 2 install a camera on your garage area. I did and I love it. You can hook it up 2 any tv. I can lay in bed and flip the remote from tv channels 2 camera. I love it !! U may want 2 chain up those bikes with heavy chain to something rigid. Burglars want to move fast,so slow them down.

Get an alarm system and get the stickers that indicate that you have one on the points of entry or windows.

get a garage code .... your family has the number digit .... then when you type in the code the garage opens .... i have one and it works well!

Alarm system

Keep your dog in the garage when you're not home.

get a garage code thing.
