How to remove the spring from the rear shock assembly on a 1992 suzuki rm250 dirtbike?

i have the shock removed from the bike. i have the top lock nuts loosened all the way up. how do i remove the retaining washer to get the spring off?? thank you

If it has one, pry the rubber bumper up the shaft.
The retaining washer should have a slot in it, to slide it off the shaft.

I'm not familiar with your bike.
Some shocks with a reservoir, the bottom mount gets unbolted from the shock.
Look for a flat area or a hex nut for a wrench.
