I locked my bike up, but what if someone steals my computer on it? |
I mean my speedometer. I can't just take it off and bring it inside with me (to the library, store, whatever), its stuck on there. What are the risks of someone stealing it (a $30 computer) and how can I prevent that? Thanks, God bless! If someone wants something bad enough, it doesnt matter what you do or how much time and money you put into it, they'll get it. I guess you could put an alarm system on it, they have sensors that can tell if elevation has been altered and any movement what so ever, put then again it will only work if they're in hurry, a planned theft will go perfect. But I would suggest some kind of alarm with sensitive sensors, odds are if anything were to go down, it would be a spur of the moment theft. Virtually all bike computers have a quick-disconnect allowing you to remove it from the handlebar mount. Look again. ALL bike computers unclip from the mounting. So YES you CAN take it in with you. Look underneath the thing - you'll see a button, or tab you need to press/pull etc. Wrap tape to your bike bar all around the wire that comes off of it. It will take someone more trouble if they want to steal it. My computer comes off with a 1/4 turn and it fits in my pocket. how's your comp on your bike? you have a computer on your bike? no one will steal it |
