Getting a key for a lock that doesn't have a key?

i've lost my key for my bike's steering lock and i was wondering if there was anyway a key cutting place would be able to cut a key for the lock or if i will be able to do something about it.

if not does anybody know where i can find a yamaha sr125 steering lock barrel and keys? i've look on a lot of sites and can't seem to find anywhere that does them.

thank you

A good locksmith should have no trouble making a key for it.

Most locksmiths can make keys. they had to do that to my car once...I didn't have a spare and my key broke off in the door and they made me one to fit. It cost like $30

You could try to contact Yamaha and give them the serial number of your bike - I'm sure they sell replacement keys.

try this guy

I lost both my yamaha keys last year and the dealer told me they would have to replace the fuel tank lock, steering lock and seat lock.
Have you looked in the manual and not the service book, I found the key serial number for my keys in there.

Good luck

Get the serial number from the lock and go to the dealer.
The Honda dealer was able to cut me new keys for dirt cheap.
Yamaha should be able to do the same.

P.S. If he says you have to change the locks, ask him how come Honda can do it, and he can't.

get it from the dealer, they will need proof of ownership and the vin number.

Have a Locksmith come out and make the key. It takes about 20 minutes and is usually very inexpensive.
