Any Cool Household Hacks?

Does anybody know any cool "little Hacks" that can be done using normal stuff found arounds the home.

There was w]one on youtube about charging an iPod using an Onion, another on getting an extra drink for free at a vending machine, and another about unlocking any bike or combination lock.

the onion DOES NOT work
oh and the one to remove the scratches on the ipod with a banana that one DOES NOT work either

the vending machine one does work (i have tried)
