Does anyone know how to recover from Kryptonite locks?

I turned my old Kryptonite U-lock in on the lock exchange program because you could open it with a Bic pen. They sent me a new U-lock which was fine. At the time of the exchange, the woman at Kryptonite said I was registered. Then my bike was stolen. It turns out he metal on the new U-lock is so soft, you can pry it apart with a crow bar or a tire jack. Kryptonite won't re-imburse me for my bike. Now they say I wasn't registered. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get them to pay up?

Plead your case with the supervisor of the person you spoke.

Unfortunately if you didn't get it in writing, you may not have a stand. Hearsay won't stand up--not even in court.

It is tricky, because you don't have any evidence of what the woman at Kryptonite said. I am amazed their locks are so flimsy, though. In any case, I would consider legal action, or contact your citizens advice bureau
