(UK) Any idea where I can buy Steering Shocks? |
I'm asking for someone not on the web so excuse me if i get this wrong He's got a CMT trials bike and wants to put a steering damper/shock on it, sometimes called a head/steering lock i think he said. Its to stop the handlebars jarring when hitting ruts etc. I've searched the web but cannot find anything. Why on earth would anyone want a steering damper on a Trials bike, Usually they are on sports bikes and racers to stop the steering flapping lock to lock when the front wheel goes light on fast bumpy bends. I doubt you could make a steering damper work on a trials bike as they usually have160 degrees of lock whereas sorts bikes are nearer 90 degrees lock to lock. A damper wont stop the steering jarring on ruts but will slow the steering down enough to fetch him off sounds like he really needs Moto Crosser for this fast stuff, a steering damper will ruin a Trials bike's low speed handling which is the only thing they are good at so get a different bike. |
